Silence

Silence – for L

When you wipe the windscreen down
Slicing the silence before us
Waiting
For the first ray of light
(The children’s laughter fades into the picture)

When the playground tumbles our world around
Tiny ghosts of our past lingered on the swings – do you hear them?

I read past your words, the space in between
And the demons within
We’ll wait
As daybreak falls into our eyes
Illuminating the shadows that we were too afraid to seek

I will do nothing
Nothing undoes me
